  1. Another fantastic backpacking trip Paul. A superb collection of photos and some really useful notes on terrain and routes.

  2. Paul says:

Cheers Nick, I really like Sutherland, a great area with some really superb hills. Enjoyed Ben More and Conival from Inchnadamph but found this route even better.

  3. It looks great. I received Dan Bailey’s new book “Great Mountain Days in Scotland” a few days ago and a route very similar to this is included.

  4. Paul says:

I must admit that I got the basic idea from the Cicerone guide ‘Walking in Scotland’s Far North’.

  5. Stunning stuff Paul. Very envious of the fact that you can visit this area in a weekend. It is pretty much a 2 day drive either way for me. The amount of times I have nearly trod on an adder, wary of taking Reuben into adder country in the summer as he would soon stick his nose where it should not be!

  6. Paul says:

I must admit 4 hours sounds much better than a couple of days James.
Almost managed to pick an adder up once thinking it was a nicely marked stick, was a bit shocked when I was greeted with a hiss!

Simply magnificent, and that pitch looks idyllic. Moving it a couple of hundred miles south would be nice…
My newsreader seemed to be playing up recently, I just discovered that your feed disappeared along with a few others – I thought it was a while since I saw a report.

  8. Paul says:

Thanks Geoff, this is a route I had in mind for a little while. It was a lovely place to camp and the stiff breeze kept away the midges!
